That’s a pretty large number. Yes, you always have to be online when playing Diablo III, and yes, the whole launch fiasco was definitely a blemish, but Diablo III has been a nice little success story for Blizzard. How successful? How about to the tune of 3.5 million copies sold within the first 24 hours of release, and a total over 6.3 million copies in the week since. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.
These sales number only confirm the fact that Diablo III is the fastest-selling PC game of all time. According to Blizzard co-founder Mike Morhaime, the company was “extremely proud” of the gameplay feedback. However, he regrets the login errors that plagued Diablo III players from the beginning, wishing to ”reaffirm our commitment to make sure the millions of Diablo III players out there have a great experience with the game moving forward.”
It’s fair to say that the game is doing well, wouldn’t you agree?
