It’s that time of year again…
E3 is just around the corner, and we’ve been flooded with rumors about the massive gaming convention. Will we have next gen console announcements? What new games will we find out about? Will we finally get our hands on some playable demos?
While we’ll have to wait just a little bit longer to find out the answers, we can still make our own predictions and dream about what might end up on the show floor. Here’s what the staff at Leviathyn is looking forward to…along with some of the things we’re not.
Paul Popiel
What I want to see: More horror games! Zombies! Cthulhu! Vampires! Monsters and Madmen!
What I don’t want to see: Motion based games that look cool and then fail when actually played.
What I’m most excited about: Gameplay from the Last of Us (Finally!)
Tommy Eubanks
Want: Kingdom Hearts 3 announcement, though I’m not going to hold my breath.
Don’t want:Trailers for games I already knew were coming out without release dates. I can watch trailers anywhere, I watch E3 to find out when games are coming out.
Excited for: The Nintento panel. They always put on a great show, and I look forward to it every year.
Want: I would love to see a bigger surge in indie titles, but also about big releases for the Vita.
Don’t want: I don’t want to see anything about the next Xbox or PlayStation. Both Microsoft and Sony boasted 10 year life cycles for their consoles, so hopefully they don’t back down from those statements.
Excited for: Personally, I’m most excited about seeing more gameplay for titles like DmC, Assassin’s Creed 3, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Travis Freese
Want: I want to see what Halo 4 and and Elder Scrolls Online are looking like with new developers.
Don’t want: Anything Call of Duty related.
Excited for: A possible Guild Wars 2 release date? It’s about time.
Cassidee Moser
Want: Playable demos/gameplay footage for Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite, and The Last of Us.
Don’t want: Next gen consoles; motion-control games.
Excited for: New trailers and game announcements. 2012 is starting to get disappointing with all the delays, and I’d love something to look forward to.
Stephen Daly
Want: Proof that The Last Guardian still exists, an overhaul from last year and a renaming of the Wii U, a Fallout 4 or Jak 4 announcement (we can dream).
Don’t want: Another crappy/Kinect-centric Microsoft conference (though that will happen).
Excited for: The Last of Us, Dishonored, the prospect of any new console (that isn’t the Wii U).
Dean Martin
Want: Dragon Age 3 reveal to fight the rumors of it being delayed. And more on Black ops 2
Don’t want: Anything to do with motion controls *yawn*
Excited for: Hopefully seeing the new Blops Zombie mode in action!
Jason Fanelli
Want: Vita software, Resident Evil 6 gameplay, Metal Gear Solid 5
Don’t want: A crappy Microsoft conference. They’re due.
Excited for: Wii U
Ron Hoffecker
Want: Dragon Age 3
Don’t want: Mass Effect 3 ending “correction”
Excited for: Nintendo’s press conference
Jay Coombes
Want: RE:6 gameplay like Jason. Borderlands 2, more Vita games.
Don’t want: Bickering and mud-slinging from any developer/company – it just diminishes the business. CoD, can we let this series die please?
Excited for: Possible next-gen announcements.
