Rockstar Games has announced that they will be closing their Vancouver, Canada studio. But before you’re stricken with a case of the sads, they have also expressed their plans to open a new studio in Toronto after receiving undisclosed assistance from the Ontario Government.
They will offer the employees of the Vancouver stuido jobs at Rockstar’s other locations. The company plans to unite their Canadian team in an effort to continue Rockstar’s legacy of high quality games.
“We believe a single Canadian team will make for a powerful creative force on future projects. We plan to add more than 50 new positions to our combined Canadian team, and are pleased to be entering into this strategic partnership with the Ontario government,” said Vice President of publishing Jennifer Kolbe.
Vancouver’s most notable work has been on Bully and the recent Max Payne 3.
