Nintendo Announces New Super Mario Bros. 2 Digital Incentive

Gamers who pick up a digital copy of New Super Mario Bros 2 for the Nintendo 3DS will be rewarded with double the number of Club Nintendo points that purchasers of a physical copy receive as reported by DigitalSpy.

Those who purchase the platformer from Nintendo’s eShop will earn 100 coins while players who choose a physical copy will earn 50.

Players must link their 3DS to a Club Nintendo account prior to activating the title. New Super Mario Bros 2 is the first 3DS game to be released at retail and digitally at the same time.

It will also be the only known first party Nintendo game to offer premium DLC content.

New Super Mario Bros 2 will be released on the 17th of August in Europe and on the 19th of August in North America.
