The boys and girls at Game Informer have revealed the cover story for their September issue, and I hope you’re ready for more co-op craziness.
The cover game is Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, another installment in EA’s co-op series. The game is being developed at EA’s Visceral Montreal studio, and it sounds like the new studio is bringing a new spin to the franchise.
From the GI reveal article:
Visceral Montreal is taking a new approach with The Devil’s Cartel, emphasizing mature storytelling over the series’ divisive high-fiving antics. The studio is focused on pushing forward instead of dwelling on the past, starting with two new characters, Alpha and Bravo. They’re determined to leave their mark during a deadly mission in Mexico, which is all possible thanks to the Frostbite 2 engine’s destructive capabilities.
Are we ready for more Army of Two? Personally I’m happy about the change in direction, because the end of Army of Two: The 40th Day ruined the entire game for me. I hope I never see anything like that again.
