THQ president Jason Rubin announced via an investor call yesterday that the publisher has four internal studios working on unannounced projects he claims will “represent the type of product we believe will make THQ successful in the future.”
Rubin was brought on earlier this year with the hopes that he could revitalize the company and bring it a much-needed boost after it narrowly avoided being delisted on Wall Street. Since then, Rubin has made a number of key decisions, including expanding the Saint’s Row: Enter the Dominatrix DLC into a full sequel and cancelling Guillermo Del Toro’s project inSane. He also claims to have shifted his focus towards all of THQ’s upcoming releases, including Darksiders II, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Metro: Last Light.
THQ was able to successfully return back to black after releasing their Q1 earnings support, a good sign for the once-teetering company as they prepare to move forward into the exciting and crowded 2013 release schedule.
Stay tuned for more details about THQ’s upcoming releases, including their currently-unannounced projects.
