Adrian Chmielarz, the creative director of Gears of War Judgment as well as two of People Can Fly’s top artists have left the studio today Kotaku reports. The departures were confirmed by Chmielarz and Epic Games – the owners of People Can Fly.
Mark Capps, Epic’s president, said in a statement:
“Adrian Chmielarz, Andrzej Poznanski and Michal Kosieradzki have parted ways with People Can Fly and Epic Games in order to pursue other opportunities, which they will announce of their own accord,” Capps announced.
“Over the past decade, they have been instrumental in building People Can Fly into the talented team that it is today. We wish them well in their future endeavors. People Can Fly remains excited to release Gears of War: Judgment to fans early next year.”
Chiemlarz, via twitter, said “Gears fans, you’re going to love Judgment. It’s in great hands. And don’t worry, you’ll hear about my plans soon enough.”
Chiemlarz follows Rod Fergusson, Epic’s production director, who left last week to join Irrational Games and oversee development of Bioshock Infinite.
People Can Fly’s last game was 2011′s Bulletstorm.
