Andrew House, CEO and president of Sony Computer Entertainment, told Reuters he expects the PlayStation outfit to turn a profit this year.
“I think we will be profitable this year. We have a growing installed base, growing connectivity of the PS3,” he said.
If this is to be happen the company will need to make up some ground from the $45 million operating loss it posted for the first fiscal quarter (the three months to June 30th).
For the fiscal year to March 31st SCE ran in with a profit of $370 million. House would not say whether he expects to beat that figure this year.
At the Tokyo Game Show, where House made the comments, Sony also revealed a second revision of the PS3 and new colors for the PS Vita.
