At this point, the fact that the Vita is not doing well is old news. Sales continue to disappoint across the board, and although there are good things on the horizon for the handheld, it’s been nothing if not an uphill battle for the Vita since its launch.
Speaking to Eurogamer, Sony UK Vice Presiendent Fergal Gara responded to whether or not a Vita price cut was forthcoming by saying that they “always aim to establish price cuts,” and adding that “the question is not so much if, but when”. He then went on to say that the company is instead turning their attention on bundles and building excitement around the upcoming major titles coming for the Vita in games such as Assassin’s Creed Liberation and Call of Duty: Black Ops-Declassified.
When asked if a price cut would have to wait until next year, Gara responded with a simple “Yes”, citing that the timing for such a price cut is still “under discussion”.
