Despite controversy and a fairly divisive critical reception, Capcom’s Resident Evil 6 managed to top the charts in the Land of the Rising Sun, coming in at number one with over 650,000 units in its first week. This comes on the heels of Capcom’s announcement earlier in October that the game shipped 4.5 million units globally.
Resident Evil 6 is the newest installment in the Resident Evil series, featuring three separate campaigns (and a “secret” fourth one) that follow the exploits of series standouts Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and newcomer Jake Mueller as they travel the world trying to stop the newest outbreak of a deadly virus plaguing the populations worldwide.
