Today the fine folks at the PlayStation Blog rolled out the details for the special and collector’s editions for Naughty Dog’s upcoming The Last of Us. Called the Survival and Post-Pandemic Editions, here’s what your hard-earned money will buy you:
The Survival Edition of The Last of Us will include an exclusive art book from Dark Horse aptly named The Art of the Last of Us, the first issue of the American Dreams comic detailing Ellie’s backstory with a cover exclusive to the game’s special editions, a Steelbook edition of the game with both a portrait of Ellie and Joel, and the Sights and Sounds DLC Pack including the game’s original soundtrack, a dynamic theme for the PS3, and PSN Avatars of Joel and Ellie.
The Survival Edition of The Last of Us is available at most major retailers and will cost $79.99.
More ambitious collectors can opt for the Post-Pandemic Edition of the game, a GameStop exclusive that features the comic, the Sights and Sounds DLC pack, the Steelbox edition of the game, a 12″ statue of Joel and Ellie made by Project Triforce, and an additional DLC pack offering multiplayer bonuses such as Bonus XP and in-game currency, and Joel and Ellie skins for those who complete the single-player game.
The Post-Pandemic Edition is being sold in limited quantities and will cost $159.99.
Both the comic and The Art of The Last of Us will both be available on their own after the game’s release.
The Last of Us is the latest offering from Naughty Dog and follows the story of two survivors in a post-apocalyptic world. Look for it exclusively on the PS3 on May 7th, 2013.
