Sure, plenty of IPs and studios were sold today as part of THQ’s break-up, but curiously absent from the list was Darksiders and Vigil, the studio that develops Darksiders. Darksiders might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but regardless, the team at Vigil is amazingly talented. That’s why I’m happy that Atsushi Inaba, the head of Platinum Games, developer of Bayonetta and Vanquish, as well as the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, thinks so, too.
Here’s what Inaba-san had to say on Twitter:
If you have no idea what Inaba-san just said, don’t run away. Here is a translation: “”In THQ studio and IP selling off auction, Darksiders is unsold? [We] wanna buy it…on the cheap…” I think it would simply be fascinating if Platinum Games acquired Darksiders and Vigil. It sucks to see people, especially talented people, out of work, so only time will tell if something actually happens.
