Two weeks ago Leviathyn reported on the Rayman Legends delay for the Wii U and the negative backlash that followed Ubisoft over their controversial decision. While Leviathyn’s Tayo suggested Wii U owners should have seen the move coming, the hate against the French video game company has neither settled or cooled since then. Ubisoft originally planned to release an exclusive Rayman Legends demo to make peace with upset Wii U users, but have now decided to offer them something more worthwhile. Announced by senior game manager Michael Micholic and creative director Michel Ancel, an exclusive Rayman Legends challenge mode featuring new content on a daily and weekly basis will arrive on the Wii U’s eShop in April. On the video reveal of the challenge mode, Micholic had this to say:
We just wanted to reach out and let you know how truly humbled we were by the outpouring of support from the community and the fans about the announcement of the delay of Rayman Legends, and let you know that it definitely hurt us to see you guys so upset about the delay
Ancel also ensured fans the delay of Rayman Legends is wisely being used by the development team:
We have some time to add some content to the game. We want to add characters, bosses, even new levels which is good for the game.
Wii U owners can expect the challenge modes to arrive on the first week of April.
