A tantalising rumour is spreading around the Internet about the possible development of the long awaited title ‘Half Life 3′. Valvetime, a Valve fan site, claims to have found a set of Valve Documentation that details a total of 791 projects that may or may not be in development. Very mysterious!
The evidence they found at least proves that the company is talking about a lot of new titles, including the eagerly-anticipated Half Life 3, Left For Dead 3, Source 2, Steam Box and much more. According to the website, Valve uses Jira, a piece of project management and bug tracking software, and a recent issue with it left a window for sneaky members of the public to access their internal tickets. The images on their site (which you can see below) were submitted through an anonymous source, and show the existence of a Half Life 3 mailing list which includes 42 employees currently. They believe that the list is current for one main reason: Paul Pepera is listed on it, and he only joined Valve in 2013 after leaving Bungie.
I wouldn’t get yourself in a twist yet though. The images only show that a mailing list currently exists, not that the game is currently in active development. Worst case scenario it could simply be for talking about the possibility of a sequel, or it could be an elaborate ruse to rile anticipated fans up even more (touching a little too close to conspiracy theories there, but you never know!) The fact that these games are listed means that we simply have to sit here and hope, waiting for an official announcement. Valve has declined to comment on the leaked list at the moment, but as soon as they do (and hopefully as soon as Half Life 3 is announced!) you’ll be updated. I’m sitting here with my fingers crossed!
