1.2 Million Xbox One’s Sold From January-March
Microsoft has announced through their earnings release that they have sold 1.2 million Xbox One units from January to March 2014. Earlier in the month, Sony has sold at least 7 million units of the PlayStation 4 to retailers and Microsoft selling about 5 million units to retailers. Who says console gaming is dead?
A reason why Microsoft has sold many Xbox One consoles in March is because of Titanfall. In an article from Forbes, Titanfall was the biggest selling game in March. It beat out InFamous: Second Son, and a number of other titles.
In March, Xbox One received an update that allows players to stream to Twitch. In it’s first week, Xbox One users broke usage records with the number of unique Twitch broadcasters. Xbox One sold 311,000 units in the U.S. in the month of March, surpassing Xbox 360 sales by more than 60 percent at the same point in time.
Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will be releasing in Japan this September after a lengthy delay. The Xbox One is currently available in the United States, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, United Kingdom, Mexico, New Zealand, and Spain. The Xbox One can is currently available in most stores.
