Beyond: Two Souls Might Not See a Digital Release

Now that the fervor over Grand Theft Auto V has died down, the new Fall/Winter gaming cycle is officially upon us.  One of the most anticipated titles of the year is Beyond: Two Souls, a PlayStation exclusive which is releasing on October 8th.  With the launch coming quickly excited fans have started pre-ordering the Beyond: Two Souls Special Edition which is only available at GameStop USA/EB Games Canada before the deadline is over.  The Special Edition also includes a bonus 30 minutes called Advanced Experiments which is a playable scene that you can receive for free with your puchase.

In this scene, you’ll test your rapid problem-solving skills as you guide Jodie and the mysterious entity Aiden through a series of tough training missions. Over the course of 30 minutes of additional play, you’ll determine your ability to use your brain while keeping an ice-cool head in high-pressure situations — all while helping Jodie and Aiden collaborate to solve puzzles.

There is one catch however for those who were considering buying the game digitally.  Derek Osgood of the PS Blog related some information to excited gamers who were asking about a day one digital download of Beyond: Two Souls.

Beyond will not be available for Day 1 digital. We’re still looking into having it available at a future date via digital but nothing’s been confirmed yet.

So it’s official as far a day one release is concerned.  Beyond: Two Souls will only be available to those who purchase a hard copy, as for the digital release?  It’s as Derek Osgood said, Sony is unsure when or even if that will  ever happen.

Ms. Barthelemy has mastered all there is to know about the space time continuum and frequently spends way to much time debating why the official Zelda timeline is wrong, because it is. She also spends way too much time building houses and awesome kingdoms in the Sims 3 and is dedicating her life to creating Skyrim. When she's not wasting her precious youth she spends time bonding with friends and family watching all the sports and spamming GRR Martin about finishing the Song of Ice and Fire series even though he might kill a Stark.
