Star Wars: The Old Republic Getting Player Housing, New Trailer Reveals
In a recent trailer posted on YouTube, BioWare announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be receiving player housing in an update in the future. No details outside of the trailer were announced, but speculation has been leading to a possible release with June’s 2.8 update, according to the official website.
The trailer only shows the presence of an apartment style housing system, but more details are sure to follow after the launch of 2.7, which is currently on the public test server. It would make sense in the lore to allow different classes and factions to build on or inhabit different planets and cities, but not much more is known at this point. The coming of player housing was initially revealed on March 6 at the end of a developer livestream on Twitch, where they showed the video below.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is free-to-play, but sells Cartel Coins that allow customization and advancement in gear and items. Premium accounts are also available, and expansions like The Rise of the Hutt Cartel and Galactic Starfighter are available to play for free. End game content requires a subscription.
