Age of Wonders III Releases First Patch

Triumph Studios, the team behind the Overlord and Age of Wonders series, has released the first Age of Wonders III patch.

Age of Wonders III is a turn-based strategy game that has a mixture of Empire Building, Role-Playing, and Warfare all mixed in one. During development, Notch helped put funding into the development of the game. Age of Wonders III features randomly generated maps, with a story focused on the characters of the world. The Age of Wonders series has been around since 1999, and was developed by Dutch developer Triumph Studios.

Age of Wonders III was released last week, and Triumph Studios looked into fixing issues that players had with the game. The patch has performance optimization, fixing hardware specific issues, registration issues, and improved AI behavior. Triumph Studios is promising to offer continued support and fan interaction. A few standouts of the patch are found below.

  • Stopped the AI spamming disjunction, so players can now use global magic more easily.
  • Fixed decreasing frame rate occurring during extended play, particularly in longer battles.
  • The adding a quick save option, bound under CTRL+S by default.
  • The game now ignores controller input, to prevent camera drift when a controller is plugged in.

Age of Wonders III was looked by us on a recent Chamber of Game and is on GOG.com and Steam both a nice $39.99.
