Spencer confirmed that he wanted a game to compete with PlayStation 4's Uncharted 4.
Bioware teases Mass Effect 4 and New IP
The next installment in the Mass Effect series is in development, along with a brand new IP. During EA’s E3 media briefing, a short video showcased several of the Bioware staff, talking about the next Mass Effect game, which remains untitled. Bioware also took some time to announce they are working on a brand new IP.
Plenty of concept art from the new Mass Effect game was shown, with the Bioware staff implicitly stating that the new Mass Effect game will be available on next-gen consoles. No other details on the game were revealed. We last visited the Mass Effect Universe in the Citadel DLC Expansion that was released last year for Mass Effect 3.
Perhaps more intriguing is that Bioware announced they are working on a brand new IP. Bioware Montreal will be handling Mass Effect but the Bioware Edmonton team will creating a new franchise for next-gen consoles. Bioware Edmonton previously released the Mass Effect Trilogy and Dragon Age 2 and are currently working on Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is set for a Oct. 7 release date on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and PC.
