I’m sure by now we’ve all heard about the issues dealing with the latest update on iOS with Maps. Apple replaced Google Maps for it’s own home bred brew and it didn’t launch so well, causing direction issues and places not found. The issue became so intense, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple came out and offered an apology and offered Google Maps back as an alternative until their service was perfected.
Well Apple has decided to let the lead creator of the Maps apps go, Williamson. Williamson, senior director of the iOS platform and in-charge of Apple’s Maps program was released from duty today not too long after firing Scott Forstall, Chief of iOS development. Forstall was fired for not offering a public apology over the Map App disaster.
