1. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Is one of the Most Anticipated Video Games of 2019

For Potterheads, there is nothing more exciting than a Pokemon Go style game set in the wizarding world.

Game developer, Niantic, teamed up with J.K. Rowling for this augmented reality mobile game set in the Wizarding World. Players can choose to be a witch or wizard and will be entrusted with keeping the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. Because there was a Calamity, there are magical items scattered across the world and these “foundables” are your mission to hunt down and protect the Statute of Secrecy.

The gameplay will require exploration, collecting, battling and teamwork all while following a map. Once you find something, you can open the item up and move into an AR experience, blending the game world with the real world.

2. Gears 5

This sequel to Gears of War 4 focuses on Kait Diaz, a character who is an Outsider of Locust descent.

In this third-person shooter game as Kait, the player will work through uncovering the origin of the Locust and unravel secrets of Kait’s family. Characters JD Fenix, Delmont Walker, and Marcus Fenix will return from Gears of War 4 and aid Kait on her mission.

Players can play the game in single player, or team up with a friend in split screen to work through the storyline. There is also an online multiplayer gameplay option.

3. Kingdom Hearts 3

This is the twelfth installment of the Kingdom Hearts series and is the finale to the Dark Seeker saga, which began in the original game.

This highly anticipated video game will continue with the Sora who is teamed up with Donald Duck, Goofy, King Mickey, and Riku. Sora and the gang will search for the seven guardians of light and try and stop the second Keyblade War.

The Kingdom Hearts series is awesome because the player gets to cross paths with various Disney and Pixar characters and visit their worlds during the quest.

4. Super Mario Maker 2

Following in the footsteps of its predecessor Super Mario Maker, the second installment will continue to allow players to create their own custom courses using different aspects from the Super Mario franchise.

Super Mario Maker 2 introduces a new course based off of Super Mario 3D World, co-op course making, online multiplayer modes, and a story mode.

In the story mode, players have to travel through 100 different courses collecting enough coins to help rebuild Princess Peach’s castle. There will also be additional tasks to complete while in story mode.

5. Borderlands 3

Players in Borderlands 3 will see the same style of gameplay from previous games, gathering loot, completing missions and defeating enemies.

You will choose a character who will have different skills and weapons and develop that character throughout the game by gathering new abilities and upgrading weapons.

Team up with up to three other players and travel to new planets in search of Vaults while also completing new missions. Fans of the Borderlands games will be excited to see the new missions and options, and of course, looking forward to the humor that these games are known for.
