GI Joe Retaliation wanted to separate itself so much from the first movie that it took the extreme step of eliminating all GI Joe operatives except for four. Only Snake Eyes remains from the cast of the first film on the GI Joe side.

The ABCs of Death is an anthology film using the alphabet and death as the common thread between each of the short films.
While the trailers for Dead Man Down might have led you to believe that the man who they want to kill is the same, that’s not true at all. What brings them together besides their slightly contrived living proximity is part attraction, part desperation, and part ruthlessness.
Jack the Giant Slayer is a hell of a lot of fun, and it looks especially good in the Imax format, as you expect giants would.
Last Exorcism 2 is the very definition of the unnecessary sequel. I was perfectly happy believing that poor Nell died in the demonic fire that consumed the camera crew and possibly her father as well. So part of the reason I went and saw this film was that I couldn’t imagine what the sequel would be about, considering how the first one ended.
It’s a pleasure to watch Rooney Mara as Emily in Side Effects. She’s no Lisbeth Salander, but she has more strength than you think.
Dungeonland itself is a multi-colored theme park celebrating everything that gamers love. There’s huge dice scattered about, and the park itself is made up of pieces that look like the map tiles we lay out for gaming sessions. Clearly, this was a game made by gamers, for gamers to enjoy.
The nice thing about Parker is that it’s more like the first Transporter, in that Statham does most of the stunts and while some of them still seem a bit outlandish, they’re believable for an action movie. Parker isn’t a stretch role for Jason Statham, he’s been playing almost this same character for years in the Transporter movies, though he has a different set of rules as that character, but they’re similar enough.
Warm Bodies is a good film, though it’s not quite the zombie comedy the trailer portrays it to be, maybe because the romance angle is played up so much more than in other zombie films that are sort of similar. Nicholas Hoult does a great job as R, especially considering how limited his expressions and emotions are in the beginning of the film.
